Thoracoscopic Surgery:For the first time in Andhra Pradesh state, doctors at Kanumuri Hospitals in Guntur city performed a surgery on a five-year-old girl, who was suffering from Multiloculated Empyema with thickened pleura, through thoracoscopic surgery (keyhole surgery).

Giving details of the surgery here Thursday, Dr K Srinivasa Rao said after necessary investigations, they identified the girl suffering with the problem as a result of adhesions between pleura and chest wall. If the thick pus, adhesions and thicken pluera are not removed, the pleura would further thicken forming a Pleural Rind which leads to lung collapse on the same side and bending of spine to the same side, he said.. Free TB Detection Camp

On the occasion of world TB day on 24th March, 2016 we conducted free TB detection camp. In that Dr.Kanumuri and his team examined about 200 patients and conducted various tests for the detection of TB of the lungs.
